The Perfect Cardigan (and a blue dress!)

Madewell silk shirtdress & J. Crew cardiganThis bathroom mirror selfie is doing no justice to this dress. Because I promise you it looks way better than I’m able to capture here. Maybe one day I’ll break down and ask one of my coworkers to take a photo of my outfit. But something about that makes me so nervous!

I have been wanting to wear this little blue Madewell number for awhile now, but for whatever reason every day I planned on wearing it I would find that my legs were not dress-ready (read: they were not shaved). But today, I planned accordingly and shaved my legs – above the knee even!

I also want to talk about this black cardigan. Because I love it. I had worn holes into the elbows of my LOFT black cardigan and could not for the life of me find a similar replacement. I didn’t want any bells and whistles, just a simple straight-lined long cardigan with a v-neck opening. It seems like a simple enough request, right? But for whatever reason I was having no luck finding a replacement for my holy LOFT sweater. Turns out I was googling wrong! I was searching for “boyfriend cardigan” which kept turning up these big open knit Grandpa-esque sweaters. Which were cute, but just not what I wanted. Finally one day I typed “long black cardigan” and BINGO.

This J. Crew version isn’t technically a sweater like my LOFT one was, as its 100% cotton, but it is so soft and cute and pretty much does exactly what its predecessor did, but better. I just peaked on over on J. Crew’s website and there is a neon cerise and warm chutney color that I want REAL bad. But it looks like this cardi is part of J. Crew’s Perfect Fit collection (which I actually didn’t even know was a thing) and so if you search for “J. Crew Perfect-Fit Mixed-Tape Cardigan” you’ll find there’s quite a few used ones for sale šŸ˜‰
