Blue jeans and stomach flus

old navy rockstar jeans
So for the first time in maybe ever. I am so so so glad to be back at work. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy my job, but typically I do the collective “Monday groan” with the rest of the M-F workforce.

But today is my first day back in the office after the stomach flu spread through our house like a wildfire. I’ll spare you the details but I’ve now experienced the joy that is projectile vomit not only as a the caretaker but as the patient.

So that was my weekend… actually technically that was my Thursday – Sunday. So yeah I’m pretty happy that its Monday and especially happy that the family stomach flu has been contained.

So in other news, I want to talk about these jeans because they’re fantastic. I had been wanting a pair of distressed jeans (which I know, are likely way too casual for most workplaces) for some time. I had been seriously eyeing two pairs that were both closer to the $100 price point. I had both pairs in my hypothetical shopping basket and had planned on pulling the trigger on one of them once I sold the equivalent amount of goods on Poshmark.

And then Paloma came to visit. The moment my dear friend walked out of her rental car, her jeans walked right into my heart. And almost as quickly as I gave her a hug and threw my little chitlin’ in her arms – I asked her to take off her pants and gimme. OK, not really. But I did do the first two things and then ask her where she got her jeans.

And take a wet & wild guess at where they’re from…

OLD NAVY! Seriously, can this place do no wrong?

I have been trying to convince my little sister of how amazing Old Navy is now-a-days and she is still stuck on the same “their clothes fit weird” train I had been on for years and years. But I sent her a pic of me in these jeans and I think I may have been the final push to open her Old Navy horizons.

So needless to say that hypothetical shopping cart is empty (well at least emptied of those $100-ish jeans) while my distressed jean heart is full. And while these jeans brand-new, not on sale, would be about $35 at Old Navy I got this particular pair on Poshmark for $15. Double-Holla!
