Rainy Day

rainy day cozyI fear I’m falling into a bit of a slack habit.

Both in blogging and getting dressed. I don’t really have any excuses except I just haven’t been feeling assembling a cute outfit lately. I think I might be a little frustrated with the extra lbs I put on over the holidays and I think most of us can relate to what kind of kink that can put into your getting dressed rodeo.

But today I don’t need to worry about my pants fitting to tight, because I’m wearing stretch pants! So, HAH! Take that holiday weight! My stretchy pants don’t get a F and today, at least, neither do I.

I also feel like I need to make sure you all know that El Nino is in full effect around these parts, which is why I’m wearing these silly rain boots.

Back when I lived in New York I wanted a pair of green Hunter rain boots probably as much as I wanted a rent-stabilized affordable apartment in Park Slope. I never got the perfect apartment, but the last year I lived there thanks to a nice little tax-return, these babies were mine. I swear they were that signature shiny green when I bought them, but after wearing these as snow boots through the snowy salted sidewalks, they developed a bit of a patina. Which I actually thinks helps them look a little less obnoxious.

Turns out I liked that super glossy green signature Hunter boot look better from afar, because when I finally got my hands on them, I sort of felt silly wearing them. And that feeling hasn’t totally gone away, but I guess I feel a little less silly without all the gloss.
